A romance dedication.

Einstein once said,

"Gravitation is not responsible for people falling in love."

a quote that I find rather romantic for a hardcore worldsfamous scientist. So just for fun I thought it would be nice to create a little playlist with a few romantic songs. Cheeezy, and yes WE like it! Oh, and dont forget to listen to us tomorrow midnight on Indieground!

Peggy Lee- Fever

Ella Fitzgerald- Dream a little dream of me

Nicole Kidman and Robbie Williams- Something Stupid

Frank Sinatra- Fly me to the moon

Ville Valo feat. Natalia Avelon- Summer Wine

Enjoy, Captain and Fin

Get your Jetpacks and Let's Fly Away

Thoughts:
  1. It's about driving alone in the Autobahn. Rainy weather. Wearing scarf, leather Jacket and Boots. Drinking filter coffee and listening to every single song of the album.
  2. It's about traveling alone. Being in a train, going to a destination to find or meet something/someone.
  3. It's about sitting on the couch and turning the lights off so nothing gets your attention except of this album.
  4. It's about music that brings feelings and a stomachache out of nowhere.
This is for me the new album called "In the Pit of the Stomach" by the "We were Promised Jetpacks".

As powerfull as it should be. With peculiar Dynamics that come and go, and in a way nostalgic Vocals coming out from the corridor or a room in the back.
Over.

Captain Solo Thursday 13/10

Due to some unexpected obstacles, I covered for our Indieground producer Noice Annoys. It was really fun to broadcast daytime. I was a little comfused though, since I wasn't quite sure about what kind of music people prefer to listen to during daytime... Anyway, I just gave it a go with my own habbits, which means mostly light stoner, some folky blues and groooooovy stuff.. I want to thank everyone though for listening and keeping me company, since Fin wasnt with me.. (It feels really odd to sit in the studio alone, without the other half)

  • Desert Sessions- You think I aint worth a dollar, but I feel like a millionaire
  • PJ Harvey- This is love
  • The dear Hunter- A curse of cynicysm
  • Fu Manchu- Mongoose
  • Black Mountain- Wildernes Heart
  • The Black Keys- Your touch
  • John Lee Hooker & The Canned Heat- I got my eyes on you
  • Howling Wolf- Spoonfull

  • Dan Auerbach- I want some more

A song for hope.

A little tip for this post is to play the song as your're reading this.

Ben Howard is a british singer-songwriter with a mild folk sound. I believe that he suits today's sunday morning. I've done alot of thinking lately, something I believe that 95% of the greek population has been doing, and yes, we know, things aren't as steady and dreamlike as want them to be. But on the same time, I feel that life is too short to be downdrawn by things we can't control, and yes I am talking about the political, economic and social crisis we are swimming in.
Personally I'm very glad that I have amazing people by my side, a wonderful family and good health (at least for now...) And, perhaps, we should stop worrying about the things we don't have, and embrase the things we do have. I just want to be able to smile and feel that it is sincere you know, like when you were a child. But, when you've been brainwashed from childhood that growing up is not easy and that being a child is the best thing you can be (at least in our western society and in an average family) it's kinda hard to not feel supressed, or aborted from the "Happyland" as years pass you by and you feel that your dreams slowly fade away..
The conversation is endless and I could talk for hours about the subjective aspect of life, our living, our reality. Even our identity is subjective. You are not who you think you are, and definitely not who you want to be. So summing up,
We should forget yesterday, stop worrying about tomorrow, and live for today.

"He not busy being born, is busy dying"// Bob Dylan

Cheers, Captain.

Umbrellas everywhere!

I am sure that everyone would be very excited and proud about their piece of work (im talking about a song) if there were several covers of it. Everyone knows rihanna? Or? I bet she doesnt like rainy weather, but on the other hand she shouldn't care since she has an UMBRELLA! What Im trying to say is, that this post is dedicated to all the covers and re-creations of the song umbrella. I personally hate it (captain speaking) but I couldnt resist....I think... So here it goes.

Vanilla Sky

The Baseballs

Mandy Moore

Manic Street Preachers

Biffy Clyro

And of course here comes the originall. Which version do you like btw?:P

To be Honest

To be Honest with you people all this time i was demanding for the creation of a Blog. I thought that it will be nice if i could share my thoughts about Music and New discoveries and stuff. Now came my first time to post something here and its funny that i'm in a way confronting a blank page that in the end has to be filled up with letters and sentences.
There is a song by Vodka Juniors that expresses fully the 'How i would describe my relationship with Music'. That's the song called 'Music is All i Got'. And there is also a funny T-Shirt (Photo) to make a comment on the previous sentence, which has printed on it 'Music is My Boyfriend'.
How would a world without music look like? --> There would be No World.
So i will not write what will come after in this Blog. But i will share my best song of all the times in this post and i'm sure we will be in touch. Enjoy!

I.N.F.O.

To be quite honest with you it's hard to write about yourself when you have to. It's like dancing, when someone just comes randomly up at you, and says " hey, dance for me b**h"... njee just kidding.
Well Captain and Fin are two girls, 24 and 21 years old, who live together and share a dog and their love for music. Endless discusssions have been made on their balcony in Exarhia, about what life would be without music and instruments and radio and so on.

Captain and Fin's broadcasts for Indiegroundradio started in March 2011. The broadcast's title Knock on Mute! was taken by a previous music project Captain had with her best friend in Sweden. The first broadcast could easily be characterized as nervous. (Fin had made broadcasts before so she was more experienced). But after a while the broadcasts started rolling as they should, since we had strong backup and support by our listeners. (Yeah, thanks you guys....) Anyway, needless to say, as every starter and newbie make booblers, so did we...but we're so cute so people forgave us pretty quickly. (im referring to a missfortunate moment with Johny Cash)..

After almost 6 months on Indiegroundradio, we've come to the point were we want to expand our musicoffers to the listeners. We started off by playing the music WE like, but after a while we thought that our broadcasts could be a great opportunity to broaden our horizons (in music knowledge). So, now, we play mostly new discoveries, and underground bands we find interesting.
Enough with the writing. Don't forget to listen to us today ( our first broadcast for this winter) and from now on every tuesday at 12 o'clock. (CET)
